Hi, I'm Brianna Bryant, LCSW-C.
My passion lies in working with individuals of color to eliminate mental health barriers, resolve trauma, and live life authentically.
I work with adults who feel ready to explore how past experiences impact their lives and their relationships. I am trained in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills facilitation.
What to expect from me
I want you to feel safe with me before we dive into the deeper work of processing your past.
I believe that establishing a strong connection is the foundation of successful therapy. I will ask about your hobbies, likes, and dislikes so we can really get to know each other and determine if we’re a good match. I believe that conversation is an art and I aim to honor that as we get to know one another to do this work.
You are more than your symptoms.
I invite you to bring your whole self into the therapy space.
My Style
My approach to therapy considers how your life experiences impact the way you navigate this world and the relationships you engage in.
I believe that you are far more than your symptoms, and I invite you to explore how your coping skills were valuable at some point– even if they are no longer serving you or helping you reach your goals.
We would be a great fit if:
You identify as a woman of color between the ages of 18 and 40
You have experienced racial trauma
You have experienced sexual, physical, emotional, psychological abuse in childhood or adult relationships
You are experiencing anxiousness or depressed mood related to unresolved experiences
You are committed to resolving past experiences that prevent you from showing up fully in your life
My Story
I was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio, located just outside of Cleveland. I have always known that I wanted to be in a helping profession, but I was initially unsure of which path to take in this broad field. I had some knowledge of social work but didn't seriously consider pursuing it until a family member recommended it to me as I was preparing for college. I didn't realize just how much this work would impact me, and I have immense gratitude for how it has changed my life thus far.
After graduating with my master's in social work, I began my career in child welfare. The fast-paced, collaborative nature of the work kept me busy and committed. I enjoyed working with the children and adolescents in the foster care system as they kept me on my toes and challenged me in ways that allowed me to grow as a case manager and therapist. I have worked in community mental health, child welfare, and medical social work. Each of these experiences has provided me with opportunities for growth and advancement within the field. Along with seeing clients in the private practice setting, I work for the Department of Veteran Affairs providing therapy to those who have served in the military.
